Parents and guardians are reminded of the importance of children attending school regularly. In line with our Attendance Policy parents/guardians will be contacted by letter when their child is absent for 10/15/20 days. Schools also report absences of 20 days or more to the National Educational Welfare Board. All absences must be explained in writing to the class teacher on the chld's return to school. Absence notes should be sent via Aladdin. In line with our Covid Response Plan you are now requested to fill in a Return to School Declaration on Aladdin. This will be available after 3p.m on the day before your child is due to return to school. By accepting this you are declaring that your child is, to the best of your knowledge, not infectious with any illness.
Parents and guardians are asked not to take holdays during term time. The principal will not give permission for absences during term time for holiday purposes. Work will not be set by teachers to cover such absences.
Children are asked to attend school on time. The school roll is taken before 10.30 a.m. Children who are not present will be marked absent. If they subsequently arrive in to school they will be recorded as having arrived late. A register is kept in the office of children arriving late or departing early. Parents/Guardians must sign this register when collecting or dropping off their child. Under no circumstances will a child be allowed home unless accompanied by an adult.
